a&a bunkers

Also made some bunkers for Axis & Allies. Started with this: Applied the miter saw and ended up with this: One $1 box made two bunkers and two walls, so not too shabby. I need to head back to Michaels to get more boxes.

star wars terrain v1

First look at an industrial complexfor Star Wars miniatures battles: The idea is for the seperate pieces to be based individually so that they can be combined into various configurations. The railroad tracks will be cut down to become ladders. Of course everything will get painted.

star wars terrain

Star Wars terrain Some neat ideas. I just bought some Christmas wrapping paper with one inch grids on the back, could use that as a mat to put the pieces onto. Some Star Wars themed terrain to copy/get inspiration from: KSKYHAPPY’s sci-fi terrain gallery The Tattooine terrain made by HG Walls is frikin’ incredible. Need [Continue]

the loft is in!

New pictures of the shed are here. The loft right now just has four sheets of 4×8 OSB for …. carry the q…minus 13.983…128 more square feet of storage room.

star wars terrain?

When I get the time, maybe next year, I want to build a set of terrain and structures for use with the Star Wars miniatures. I think that’d be fun. I’m thinking lots of industrial type structures, maybe a refinery type plant, a bar, and a downed starship. Inspiration: all the sci-fi stuff at Hirst [Continue]

my shed!

Here are pictures of my new shed, because I know y’all want to see them. I finished up most of the inside yesterday. I put in half the loft today, then ran out of both nails and 2x6x12s, so stopped. It’s not complete yet, but now I have to move stuff into it to figure [Continue]

hand plane

So I don’t forget, or can easily look it up, I have Millers Falls No. 900 Smoothing Plane. In other tool news, I am looking for a Atlas/Craftsman Horizontal Mill, or a Clausing, although I’d like a floor model Clausing rather than a bench model which the Atlas/Craftsman is. And a Atlas/Craftsman Shaper. Smaller than [Continue]

homebuilt .22s

This is what I’d like to be able to do someday. This guy has built copies of some old .22 rifles. Here is his current project, a pair of pump-action Mossberg model Ks. His last one was a pair of single shot, lever action Steven’s Favorite rifles. Before that he made a Stevens Marksman rifle [Continue]

inexpensive eyeglasses?

“Eyeglasses Stores are for Suckers” “I’ve stepped into my last eyeglasses store. I’ve been wearing glasses since junior high, and the prices have gotten outrageous. The last pair I bought at LensCrafters, in 2004, set me back about $300 and never fit properly — even after multiple trips back. They broke the last week of [Continue]

emergency prepardness

I guess y’all have heard of James Kim and his family. How they got stuck up in Oregon for over a week and burned tires for heat and ate berries and such. It’s tragic, as it all could’ve been avoided with a few precautions. First off, don’t take new shortcuts in bad weather. Always, in [Continue]

3 gun match

The Spring 2007 3-Gun match at Tac Pro Shooting Center is scheduled for Saturday May 12th. Need to remember to sign up in time. Last few ones I forget about it, then they’re all full when I go to register. Bad Mike, bad!

guitar hero

Guitar hero III is being worked on now. To Activision who now owns the franchise, I say you need to think hard about what songs to include. Here are my suggestions: Jukebox Hero – c’mon, how can you not have this song yet? Stairway to Heaven Don’t Fear the Reaper – would need the audience [Continue]

stuff you know if…

lol! “Stuff you know if you have an AK. It works though you have never cleaned it. Ever. You are able to hit the broad side of a barn from inside. Cheap mags are fun to buy. Your safety can be heard 300m away. Your rifle comes with a cheap nylon sling. Your bayonet makes [Continue]

build a double rifle

Building DOUBLE RIFLES on Shotgun Actions By W. Ellis Brown “This book is written to take the gunsmith or advanced hobbyist step by step through the process of building a double rifle, using the action of a side-by-side shotgun. Chapters include evaluating actions and cartridges; building monoblocks; ribs; bushing firing pins; and proof testing. The [Continue]

gob 5

Forgot to write about this before. Last Friday, well, a week ago Friday, the day after Thanksgiving, was the World Premeire of the latest movie from Ashland Gang Productions, The Good Ol’ Boys 5: Four Kings and a Queen. We wrote GOBs 2 through 4, but did not finish filming any of them, so it’s [Continue]

house update 4december2006

Howdy everybody, Been a while since the last update, sorry about that. I think last time we covered everything up to August. Pictures of the work since then start here: http://gallery.gandalf23.com/house2005?page=47 We did all the wiring, added insulation to the living room and attic, busted up the old porch, replaced the old water line, got [Continue]
